I have been working with Savalas since it's infancy in 2001 on 'The Magdalene Sisters'. Their expertise, their intelligence, their sensitivity and most importantly for me, their collective willingness to remain open to new ways of working and exploring with sound are a few of the reasons why I would hope to continue working with them. Obviously, as soon as I completed the script for 'Neds' I immediately thought of them. Not in anyway that that reflects on their dress sense, they are sound people after all, and we all know how fucking mad they c***s are.
Savalas are quite simply the 'A team'. For flair, creativity and talent across the board they have always delivered. The RTS award we won for C4 show KNTV was, in huge part, down to their hair-brained inventiveness and midnight oil burning.
The range of sound design and services available from the guys at Savalas means we can offer our clients the full breadth of audio options alongside our CG visuals. It's great to provide the complete package and to have creative people on hand who really understand what you need in a project specific way.
The soundtrack is vital to how viewers appreciate a programme or film. The pictures magically look better with good sound. Savalas are a top sound facility for every aspect of post-production sound. We are very lucky to have them in Scotland.
Micheal at Savalas is always my first choice for the sound dub. When I'm pooped at the end of a production, I always know I'm in safe and super-talented hands. The man can work magic.
In Duane Hopkins' 'Better Things'…'what really stands out is the stunning sound design work. At one point, two characters are talking in a car and all the background noise is removed, leaving just the conversation and creating a dreamlike, surreal effect that works brilliantly.
